Sydenham: Kimble Rock Rd to Dawson Rd

The side trail view

Easy hike today with Jill.  Absolutely perfect weather!   We got to meet albino forrest cows lol.  Jill lost her phone so we did a minor backtrack but managed to find it.  Win!   Cedar Point Side Trail was rather disappointing; supposed to lead to a view, which it did, I'm just not sure it was worth the detour ;). Photo here to save you the trip.  Otherwise great day.

Sydenham: Kemble Rock Rd to Peninsula Voundary + Bruce's Caves

Nice place to stop for lunch :)

Solo hiking today, and started clearly in daydream land since I went the *wrong* direction to start.  And was 6km in when I realized it 🤦‍♀️.   I blame the dog that was loose and didn't want company on his property!   At least it was absolutely stunning weather, and when I realized what I'd done was shortly after a side trail to a parking lot so followed that to the road and through a combo of side trails and road walking made my way back to the car to start over the other direction.  Not my finest moment for sure.  Despite that, the day was incredible.  One particularly spectacular view and some other amazing ones near the end, but otherwise mostly normal trail hiking.

Bruce's Caves

The only people were right around Bruce's caves which has parking immediately beside them so lots of non-hiking tourists.  Signs warning about the difficulty of the relevant trails were much more strongly worded than warranted comparatively BUT clearly targeting a different audience.  Am glad I detoured to visit though.   Rest of the way saw very few people.

Sydenham: Young St To Dawson Rd

I love these sections

Made use of the Trail Angel service for the first time today.  Really does make this possible for solo hikers who don't live near here since there are no cabs or uber and I really didn't want to walk double the distance!  lol these are volunteers, they meet you where you're leaving your car as an end point and drive you to your starting point.

Today was So. Much. Road.  At least pretty and quiet but a lot.   Some great mossy-rock paths.  Perfect weather and bug spray did it's job.  No real terrain challenges here.  Such a gorgeous day.

Sydenham - Owen Sound Loop

There were a number of people in this immediate area

Great waterfall day today!   Mostly next to parking lots 😂 so tended to be a number of people around them (and, wonderfully, clean washrooms!  Such luxury.)  Fairly easy hiking for most of the trip - only one technical section of course right at the end.  Very buggy but wind saved the day.
